Rocky River is located nine miles west of Cleveland on the shores of Lake Erie about 15 minutes from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. Rocky River is home to 20,735 residents and 1,290 businesses. Rocky River is named after the river which, in turn, was named by the Indians who camped and stored their canoes on the island at the mouth of the river, now headquarters of the Cleveland Yachting Club. The winding river valley is part of the Cleveland Metroparks System.
