North Olmsted, Ohio

North Olmsted is a city on the western edge of Cuyahoga County 12 mile southwest of Cleveland. It is bounded by Westlake on the north, Fairview Park and Brook Park on the east. North Olmsted has an interesting history. Aaron Olmsted was one of the early landowners, but never lived here. Aaron's son, Charles Hyde Olmstead inherited the northern part of the Township. Charles owned much of the land along Butternut Ridge, and sold plots to pioneer settlers beginning in 1815. David Elijah Stearns bought 1000 acres and divided title to the land among his six sons. They were one of the earliest families to settle here.
North Olmsted, with only a population of 5,000 was officially designated a City in 1951. The town grew from a collection of farms to a community of small businesses rather quickly and after World War II younger families moved in to buy homes along the tree-shaded streets of North Omlsted.
The City has a proud heritage. It continues to build on the past and look to the future. North Olmsted offers you the best location in which to work, live, and play.
